Tenesha went on to receive a Master of Public Health degree from George Washington University and served as the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority’s sole Masters-level prevention specialist, leading the creation, implementation, and evaluation of collective impact projects and special contracts designed to promote wellness and prevent mental health issues across the metropolitan region of Richmond, Virginia.
Tenesha then became Senior Manager of Training and Capacity Building at the Black AIDS Institute (BAI). In this role, she led the development, implementation, and evaluation of BAI’s HIV treatment and prevention trainings, capacity building initiatives, and internship programs.
Tenesha recently graduated from the Public Health Education doctoral program of Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California and currently serves as Director of Public Health Equity Initiatives at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO). Tenesha presently enjoys residence in Central Virginia with her husband, son, and dog.
